Research

I engage in research to help lead the latest scientific advances and trends in our field. I believe that such activities–informed by real-world practice through consulting–contributes to the accelerated development of our knowledge base as a society.

I have written and presented on such topics as community resilience, social-ecological systems, livelihoods, natural resources and environmental management and sustainability, citizen science, higher education, ethnobotany, forest markets, local/traditional knowledge, and traditional medicine.

See here for a more complete list of my publications, presentations, and research activities.
